Hai, Konnichiwa, my name is Sohey Sugihara.  I am from Japan, more specifically, a small city called Asahikawa in Hokkaido.  That’s right, I’m a country Japanese boy who always loved to dance and dreamed of moving to the big city to become a professional dancer.

In 2007, this Japanese boy finally made the move to sunny Los Angeles, California.  Moving to Hollywood was pretty easy, but getting a Visa to work as a dancer was way harder than I thought.  It took me 3 years and it was a lot of work.  But yay!  A dream came true!  Since then, I got to meet  and work with amazing choreographers such as Wade Robson, Brian Friedman, Andre Fuentes, Gil Duldulao, and Erica Sobol.  I’ve also assisted Kevin Maher and Tricia Miranda who I proudly call my Mexican parents.  I have worked for artists such as Janet Jackson and Britney Spears…I even went on a world tour in 2011 which was another one of my biggest dreams.  Yay!!

After I got off the tour, just when I was trying to find what to do next, this man called me.  His name is Matt Cady.  He asked me to be in Fanny Pak.  Being in Fanny Pak was also one of my biggest dreams ever since I saw them on ABDC season 2.  I fell in love with them.  They were so unique, bright and fun!  Obviously, it was an easy decision.

Now, I am in Fanny Pak and living my life enjoying this adventure with other Fannies!  It’s the best!  I love us and I’m so excited about where we’re going from here.
